David M. Summit, Owner and President of A Swollen Thumb Contracting Corp. started his career in his early 20’s as a framer in the metro Phoenix area. In 1998 he became a licensed and bonded General Contractor. When deciding on a company name, his last name was already taken, David was going through the phone book and saw “A Bent Nail” and having a conversation with his mother, she suggested “Swollen Thumb” reminding him how many times he hit his thumb.

David moved from Phoenix to the Mayer, AZ area where he spent much of his childhood and attended Mayer High School. A Swollen Thumb Contracting Corp. is a family owned business and has been building in the Hwy. 69 corridor for 22+ years. In 2016 David and his family moved from Cordes Lakes, AZ to Dewey, AZ where his passion is his orchard of 84 fruit trees and his contracting business. A Swollen Thumb Contracting has a spotless license with the Registrar of Contractors.
